This beauty is looking for her forever home. A female staghorn beetle, painted from my personal specimen collection, is so cute in person. The background is gilded in composition gold leaf with black background on a 4x4 canvas. The beetle is painted from observation using interactive acrylic paint so that the shimmer from the gilded background shines lightly through the delicate wings.
